Our Story

Oso Gordito was created by Brayden and Sarah, a homegrown Alaskan and a native Texan who craved their favorite foods while working in Hoonah. They decided to bring a taste of the south to the great state of Alaska. Their passion for delicious food and desire to share it with others is what made them start and continues to drive them to this day.

Oso Gordito’s menu features fresh, locally caught halibut tacos, Texas-style brisket, and hand-cut fries. Our team utilizes locally caught seafood to recreate the flavors of Mexico and Texas while also giving it our own Alaskan flair.
